The University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) has an MOU to review human stem cell research conducted at UCSC. The UCSF Human Gamete, Embryo and Stem Cell Research (GESCR) Committee is responsible for reviewing and approving human stem cell research protocols in coordination with review of other applicable UCSC boards (e.g., IRB, IBC, IACUC).

How to Apply for a GESCR Approval

New and renewal GESCR applications, whether or not they involve human subjects, must be submitted to UC San Francisco through their iRIS system via an affiliate account.

Follow the instructions and deadlines for transition to electronic submission found on the GESCR Submission and Review Process page.
