The Office of Research Compliance Administration (ORCA) is an administrative resource designed to facilitate UCSC researchers  conduct of research in a manner that is consistent with regulatory, statutory, and organization requirements, while adhering to the highest ethical standards. This collaborative effort throughout the entire UCSC community is designed to achieve compliance and establish standards guiding research activities, while protecting the the rights of the researchers, research subjects, the environment and the community.

Our office provides support for the following areas:

  • Human Subjects (IRB Committee)
  • Animal Care and Use (IACUC Committee)
  • Conflict of Interest Committee
  • Responsible Conduct of Research Training
  • Research Misconduct Investigations
  • Stem Cell Committee Campus Oversight
  • Consultation on other Research Compliance Areas
