Due to the ongoing and growing threat posed by the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the National Science Foundation (NSF) has canceled the NSF Grants Conference that was scheduled to be held in Minneapolis, MN on May 18-19, 2020. We are currently exploring virtual conference opportunities."

UPDATE: NIH Late Application Policy Due to Public Health Emergency for United States for 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), NOT-OD-20-091, "We anticipate, but cannot guarantee, that all grant applications submitted late for due dates between March 9, 2020, and May 1, 2020, will be accepted through May 1, 2020." Applicants should assume that late applications submitted after May 1 may not be reviewed until meetings for the January 2021 council round (e.g., October-November 2020).

Progress and fiscal reports that are due within the next four months (on or before August 1, 2020) will receive an automatic deadline extension of one month.

As per current RGPO policy, all grants are eligible to receive an automatically-approved three-month no cost time extension at the conclusion of their project period.

As per current RGPO policy, carryforward of up to 25% is allowable without approval.

For required research protocol changes, please contact your Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), or other research regulatory bodies for approval, and then submit that approval to the RGPO funding program. Notification to our office of any assurance approvals or renewals due in the next four months (on or before August 1, 2020) will receive an automatic 30-day deadline extension.

UC Interim CFO Paul Jenny, per email "Update on State of California Agency Indirect Cost Recovery" email April 15, 2020, directed UC to to delay the 5% IDC rate escalation for state-funded on-campus projects for one year. That is, the rate escalation from 30% MTDC that was originally scheduled to occur on July 1, 2020 will now occur on July 1, 2021.
