The IP Management Process

Intellectual Property (IP) rights take several forms, of which patents and copyrights are the most common. Patents protect product and process innovations, while copyrights protect specific content.

In support of UCSC's efforts to patent, license, and commercialize the results of university research for the public benefit, the Office of Research supports university researchers in the various stages of IP management process, including invention disclosures, patent prosecution, copyright registration, licensing and commercialization.
