There are a number of excellent research ethics resources available on the web. Here are just a few:

Office of Research Integrity, United States Department of Health and Human Services

The Office of Research Integrity (ORI) promotes integrity in biomedical and behavioral research supported by the Public Health Service (PHS) at about 4,000 institutions worldwide. ORI monitors institutional investigations of research misconduct and facilitates the responsible conduct of research through educational, preventive, and regulatory activities.

Case Western Reserve University’s Online Ethics Center for Engineering and Science

Offers case studies, various informational links, and focuses on research integrity, human subjects, and animal welfare.

ELSI Program: Ethical, Legal and Social Issues in Science 

The Ethical, Legal and Social Implications (ELSI) Program of the National Human Genome Research Institute supports research to anticipate and address the ethical, legal and social implications of genetic and genomic research.

 

The Eubios Ethics Institutes Information Sources for Bioethics

The Eubios Ethics Institute is a nonprofit organization based in New Zealand and Japan. The website given first is a large list of ethics-related links, such as ethics centers, on-line journals, and other information sources. The website in parentheses is the home page for the Institute and may be more useful, offering on-line publications by the Institute, teaching materials, and links to various English and Japanese bioethics websites.

Internet Resources Research Ethics

A mega 'catalog' of Internet resources covering various academic subject areas. An extensive section on research ethics has been compiled at this site.

The Kenan Institute for Ethics

The Kenan Institute for Ethics at Duke University was started in 1995 with a 5-year grant from the William R. Kenan Jr. Fund for Ethics. The Links section of this site has numerous resources covering areas such as ethics associations & centers, journals & websites, business & professional ethics and research ethics.

Markkula Center for Applied Ethics

The Markkula Center for Applied Ethics was founded in 1986 and has grown into one of the most active university applied ethics centers in the country. It is based at Santa Clara University.

 

The Online Ethics Center for Engineering & Science

The Online Ethics Center is a great ethics resource for the sciences. It was established in the fall of 1995 under a grant from NSF, and its mission is to "provide engineers and scientists and science and engineering students with resources useful for understanding and addressing ethically significant problems that arise in their work life". Links to cases, essays, codes of ethics and reference materials are merely a few of the resources found at this site.

Science and Ethics: Links to Research Ethics Issues and Resources

Features several good links to sites that feature specific well-known case studies, such as the Baltimore Case. This site is maintained by the Illinois Institute of Technology.

University of California San Diego Research Ethics Program

University of Pennsylvania’s The Center for Bioethics Virtual LibraryEssentially an on-line collection of bioethics-related articles. A good basic reference tool.
