Dear UC Santa Cruz research community,

The Office of Research and the Center for Coastal Climate Resilience are excited to announce a one-year pilot of an organizational subscription to Planet, a leading provider of Earth observing satellite imagery. This powerful resource offers unprecedented insights into our changing planet and numerous research opportunities for our institution.

Signing up gives you access to:

  • Near-daily 3-meter PlanetScope satellite imagery
  • High-resolution SkySat Archive (older than 6 months)
  • Extensive training materials through Planet University
  • A community of remote sensing scientists and educators on Planet Community

How to get started:

  1. Fill out this Google form to request access to Planet.
  2. Learn about Planet’s data and capabilities on Planet University.
  3. Access Planet’s catalog of imagery using Planet Explorer.

By utilizing Planet’s data, we aim to bolster our research, teaching, and environmental stewardship efforts.
