About the Office of Sponsored Projects

The Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) is responsible for soliciting and accepting contracts and grants for research and other sponsored projects on behalf of The Regents of The University of California. OSP works with campus research faculty to prepare budgets, ensure compliance with UC Policy and sponsor guidelines, and signs off on the final submission. At the award stage, OSP reviews terms and conditions to comply with UC Policy, negotiates with sponsors when needed, and accepts awards on behalf of The Regents of the University of California.

The  UC CONTRACT & GRANT MANUAL sets forth UC Systemwide policies for the solicitation, acceptance and administration of awards from extramural sponsors.

  • To make the proposal process easier we created this simple online intake form. Just click on the button above and fill out some basic information about your proposal (should take about 5 to 10 minutes).
  • After you submit the form, a Cayuse record will be created for you and an OSP Proposal Analyst will guide you through the next steps.
  • If you already created a Cayuse record, just be sure to let your OSP Proposal Analyst know by submitting a new proposal notification using the "Request OSP Services" below.

use the OSP service request option above to request one.

Exception to Policy Request: Please fill out this application if you want to be a principal investigator on a sponsored project but do not automatically qualify. Go here for more information about ETPs.
