Center for Coastal Climate Resilience

The Center for Coastal Climate Resilience is building coastal resilience by engaging partners, fostering leaders, and addressing the challenges from climate change with a strategic focus in six key areas: advancing climate adaptation, developing nature-based solutions, enabling market options, restoring natural resources, supporting climate justice, and strengthening communications. The center is housed in the UC Santa Cruz Office of Research due to its interdisciplinary approach to research.

What we do

  • Focus on solutions-oriented work that encompasses research, policy, and practice.
  • Engage communities and leaders to help advance coastal resilience to climate change locally, nationally, and globally.
  • Model, shift, and create processes and structures that enable and accelerate equitable, transformative climate solutions.
  • Help communities that have contributed the least to the problem of climate change and work to resolve this inequity.

Our team is working on impactful solutions for nature and people.
