Research-related collaborations and agreements
UC Santa Cruz encourages and supports engagement in collaborative research activities and interdisciplinary projects between UC Santa Cruz and other institutions, and such collaborations are common. There are many circumstances that involve partnerships between collaborating institutions; some may include the exchange of funding and intellectual property, while others may not. Some examples of collaborations include consortia or teaming arrangements, exchanges of samples, materials, or data, and permits to authorize animal research at partner institutions. Establishing agreements to support collaborations ensures that each party has a shared understanding of the work being conducted, the resources committed by each institution, and the division of responsibilities.

Research IT
UCSC Information Technology Services provides general request services or assessments for individuals and research groups who wish to deploy research computing and advanced cyberinfrastructure techniques (e.g., high-performance computing, visualization, advanced networking, and data collaboration, and advanced technology-enhanced workflow development), research data management and security, and other research-related IT consultations.
This service is for current faculty and research groups (including graduate students) who need assistance with research IT. If you are an undergraduate needing assistance, submit your request through your faculty adviser or sponsor.
Research infrastructure
The links provided here are offered to help interested parties find their way more deeply into the UCSC research enterprise infrastructure. A great deal of our research infrastructure is under the ownership of principal investigators as part of their respective labs. However, there are rechargeable research resources throughout the campus that are managed and made available to different people in different ways under divisional dean’s office authority.
